Reported Issue: Remote starter system worked fine until vehicle was serviced. Keyless entry works fine but when the remote starter is activated it only flashes the parking lights 7X
Situation: Existing system or during new system installation test
Specific Vehicle, System or Bypass Interface: Applies to Code Alarm, Prestige and Pursuit Brand Remote Starter systems.
Possible Cause: System lost tachometer signal/not detected: When either a Code Alarm or Prestige remote starter system flashes the vehicle's parking lights 7 times after activating the remote start feature, either during installation testing or after the system was installed and remote started perfectly, this is indication that the tachometer signal from the vehicle wasn't programmed or programmed properly to the system (new install) or somehow (usually from the vehicle being serviced) the system lost it's programming due to the vehicle's battery being disconnected or electrical service problems etc.
Possible Fix: Reprogram tachometer signal to system
Tachometer Programming: (Each step must be done within 5 seconds of the next step) Step 1: Turn ignition on (do not start the vehicle) S2: Press & release the button on the systems antenna 3X. S3: Turn ignition OFF. S4: Press & hold the button on the antenna. S5: While still holding the button in, start the vehicle. Keep holding the button in until either the dash lights flash 4X or the system beeps/chirps 4X. S6: Release button: Dash lights will turn on solid for 3 seconds and shut off. Turn ignition OFF, remove keys and test remote start.
