Reported Issue: System works fine with factory remote but doesn't't work consistently (or at all) after remote upgrade. Have to press the button on the remote several times to work.
Situation: Adding long range remote upgrade
Specific Vehicle, System or Bypass Interface: Plug&Play w/OBDII T-harness or Standalone Module's w/ADS Protocol
Possible Cause: Insufficient low constant power and/or ground to system antenna from OBDII connector
Possible Fix: Run separate constant power and ground connections directly to remote upgrade antenna. Cut separate constant power and ground wires running from T-harness to antenna plug and cover the ends of the wires that are running into the OBDII side of the harness with electrical tape or crimp cap off. Connect ground wire running into antenna directly to chassis ground and then connect the constant power wire running into the antenna to a constant power wire in the vehicle, preferably a constant power wire found in the vehicle's ignition harness.
